Checklist Schedule Start Time
Setting a Start Time for Scheduled Checklists
Overview
The Start Time feature allows you to control when scheduled checklists become available to users. Instead of checklists automatically starting close to midnight on the scheduled day, you can specify a precise time for the checklist to begin.
Why Use a Start Time?
This feature is particularly useful for organisations that:
- Operate multiple shifts (morning, afternoon, and night)
- Want checklists to align with shift start times
- Need to ensure checklists are only available during specific working hours
- Require better control over when work begins
For example, if you have an afternoon shift starting at 2:00 PM, you can schedule the checklist to become available at that exact time rather than at midnight.
Who Can Set a Start Time?
Users with the Manage Checklist Schedules permission can set start times when creating or editing checklist schedules.
How to Set a Start Time
When creating or editing a checklist schedule:
- Navigate to the Checklists
- Click Schedule tab and the New Schedule button
- Configure your schedule settings, including the Repeat pattern
- Locate the Start time field
- Tick the checkbox next to Start time to enable the time selector
- Select your preferred start time using the time picker
- Times are displayed in 24-hour format
- Times can be selected in 30-minute increments (e.g., 14:00, 14:30, 15:00)
- Click the time field to open the time picker
- Use the Clear option to remove a selected time
- Click Accept to confirm your selection
- Complete the remaining schedule settings
- Click Save to create the schedule

Important Notes
- If you don't enable the start time option, checklists will begin close to midnight on the scheduled day (default behaviour)
- The start time applies to each occurrence of the scheduled checklist
- Times are set in 30-minute increments to simplify scheduling
- The time picker uses 24-hour format (e.g., 14:00 for 2:00 PM, 22:30 for 10:30 PM)
- Once a start time is set, it applies to all future scheduled instances until the schedule is modified
Editing a Start Time
To change the start time on an existing schedule:
- Navigate to Checklists -> Schedule tab
- Open any schedule and click the icon to edit
- Make your changes to the start time
- Click Save to update the schedule
Changes to the start time will apply to future scheduled checklists but will not affect checklists that have already been created.
Disabling a Start Time
To remove a start time and return to the default midnight scheduling:
- Open the schedule for editing
- Untick the Start time checkbox
- Click Save
The schedule will revert to creating checklists close to midnight on the scheduled day.
