Private Teams

If a Team's Activities are better suited for a closed audience, the Team can be converted to private. Any activity created in a Private Team is only visible to that Team's members.

Keep in mind

  • The Privacy Team setting must first be requested through TeamAssurance Support.
  • Only Admins can convert an existing team to Private
  • Privacy settings only apply to Activities (not Goals, Checklists etc)

Convert a Team to Private

  1. Navigate to Settings -> Teams
  2. Find and select the relevant Team
  3. Check the box titled 'Private' and Save

Go to Admin Settings > Teams

A Private Team is indicated by a lock icon


Any Activity created by that team will be Private by default. It will display a Lock icon

If it is shared or assigned to a non-Private team, then it becomes public (visible to everyone). The person changing it will be warned about this before they confirm the reassign/share (and it can be Cancelled)

Any activity shared or reassigned between Private teams will remain private between only those teams

Private activities are not visible to other teams - not in the List view or when displayed as a linked activity. Team Members outside the Private teams would not even know it exists.
